The IndigoVision 5-megapixel cameras, combined with IndigoVision’s highly-optimised camera firmware and H.264 compression technology, are said to deliver outstanding image detail at low bandwidth.
The cameras offer wide dynamic range (WDR), day/night capability, in-built motion detection and up to four simultaneous video streams with independent resolution settings. The use of a centralised management server in surveillance systems creates a dangerous single point of failure which places fundamental limitations on scalability as well as increasing total system cost. These weaknesses become even more visible when systems need high-megapixel cameras.
The ONVIF conformant cameras have been developed using IndigoVision’s unique distributed network architecture (DNA), removing the requirement for a management server. The DNA is said to be achieved through superior solution design within IndigoVision’s Network Video Recorders (NVRs) and video management software, Control Center.
